BODY is in the beginning stages of partnering with a bodega close to PS-89 to encourage heatlhful eating habits in the local comunity. BODY members will work with teh bodega to promote delicious but healthful foods, and will participate in an NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygeine training program to better implement this plan. We hope to recuit both parents and administrators at the shcool to reinforce the message,
BODY community garden project is awarded the American Medical Association Foundation's Healthy Lifestyle Grant for $5,000!
Debby Yanes and Kristen Meier are awarded the Doctors for a Healthier Bronx "Excellence in Community Service Award" for their work with BODY. This award is given twice a year, and Debby and Kristen were awarded in record time!
